McAfee ReviewJanuary 2020 McAfee Review & Deals
Despite not being able to detect malware to the same high standard as many other antivirus programs that we’ve tested, McAfee antivirus provides a great protection service, certainly better than the Microsoft Windows Defender program. McAfee is best for those who don’t want a lag on their computer, and those who want a spam-free device. It’s Gaming mode suspends some functions, making it particularly good for avid gamers. On top of that, this Windows- based antivirus solution comes with unlimited licenses, meaning users can protect all of their web-enabled devices including tablets and smartphones alike.Visit Site For More Info

Thirty years and still going strong, McAfee. Inc. is the world’s largest computer security software company, headquartered in California, US. Previously owned entirely by Intel (as of Feb, 2011), April 2017 saw McAfee break off into a standalone company where it is now co-owned by TPG Capital, Thoma Bravo and Intel alike. McAfee is one of the most recognizable names when it comes to the antivirus game, with multiple awards to its name including; the 2017 global endpoint security growth excellence leadership award and Gartner Magic Quadrant: Enterprise Data Loss prevention award for the seventh year running, to name but a few.
Best known for its antivirus and anti-spam products, McAfee takes pride in its leading digital-security software tools for PCs, server devices and as of recently, mobile devices. Its goal is to protect consumers across all of their devices, against the forever rising number of cyber-criminals, enabling users to stay ahead of online threats.
Allows for installation on up to 10 devices - way more than the majority of competitors.
Can be installed on almost anything including; Mac, iOS and Android.
Includes a 100% virus removal guarantee - if your PC gets infected, and McAfee’s techs cannot remove the virus (remotely), they will refund your money (just note that this feature however, requires an auto-renewal subscription).
Keeps on top of software updates - McAfee software will scan for missing updates (running out of date software puts your device at risk).
An initial full scan can be a little on the slow side - our test took 1.5 hours to complete, but the follow up scan took a comparatively less 35 minutes.
When it comes to anti-phishing protection, the McAfee software isn’t quite as good as the built-in Chrome and Internet Explorer protection, though was better than that of Firefox.
Starting with the basics; the scans. For those who want to check their computer’s for anti-virus software and detect imposing threats, including the likes of viruses, malware, spyware and even ransomware, McAfee will silently scan your device in the background while also making sure that everything is fully updated. You can easily customize the scan frequency and schedule them to your liking and frequency, so you can get on with your tasks as usual. On top of that, a vulnerability scanner will stay on top of software updates to keep your PC safe and up-to-date.
The scanner will automatically install patches and let you know if you ever need to install a more complicated update manually.
Other protection options include:
- True Key password manager – emphasizes multi- factor authentication.
- Quick clean feature – makes room on devices – removes unnecessary files and scans registry, browser history and wipes cache + removes cookies.
- Vulnerability Scanner – Keeps on top of software updates to keep your PC safe and up to date.
- File shredder.
- Scanner eliminates viruses, spyware and protects against phishing and malware.
Once chatting though, the team responded within two minutes of typing a question. The support was informative though a little formal (if that’s possible) with their answers, it just didn’t feel that friendly – more robotic. Though phoning has the benefit of speaking to a real human being, it can take five-ten minutes to actually get ahold of someone and at a price. Their “Virtual Assistant” is supposed to be great for any technical support (if you need further help) but needs to be installed first. We tried numerous times to do so but the McAfee software failed to install every time. Overall, the customer support is very efficient with numerous contact methods but definitely has room for improvement especially when it comes to installing the “Virtual Assistant”.
The software itself runs scans without slowing computers down too much (we found only the initial full scan to have a very slow effect), and the only issues we had was in that the malware protection was a little below average. The current price is an absolute bargain, with a whole host of features and a decent firewall, McAfee would make a good anti-virus solution to try out – there’s always the 30 day money back guarantee if you are less than happy with it.
